Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 21, 2026

This privacy policy explains what information the Digital Traffic Labs website (www.digitaltrafficlabs.com) collects, why, and what choices you have. We keep it short and plain. If anything is unclear, write to hello@digitaltrafficlabs.com.

Who we are

Digital Traffic Labs is an independent app studio. We run this website and are responsible for the personal information collected through it. You can reach us at hello@digitaltrafficlabs.com.

This policy covers the website, not our apps

Each of our apps has its own privacy policy that explains what the app does with your data:

What we collect and why

When you visit a page

Like every website, our server receives technical information with each request: your IP address, browser type, the page you asked for, the referring page and the time. Our hosting provider keeps these server logs for a limited time for security, troubleshooting and to keep the site running. We do not use them to identify you.

Analytics

We use analytics to understand which pages are useful and how people find us:

  • Google Analytics (through the Site Kit by Google plugin) collects usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser, using cookies and similar identifiers. Where the law requires it, analytics cookies are only set after you agree in our cookie banner. Google’s practices are described in the Google Privacy Policy.
  • Ahrefs Web Analytics measures visits in aggregate. According to Ahrefs, it does not use cookies and does not build profiles of individual visitors.

Comments

If you leave a comment, we collect the name, email address and website you enter, the comment itself, and your IP address and browser user agent to help detect spam. Comments are moderated before they appear. Your email address is never published. An anonymized string created from your email address (a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to show your profile picture if you have one; see the Automattic privacy policy. If you choose to save your details, a cookie remembers them for your next comment.

Emails you send us

When you write to hello@digitaltrafficlabs.com, we receive your email address, your message and anything you attach. We use it only to reply and to improve our apps.

Optional surveys

Some pages, such as the MD Beautifier uninstall page, embed an optional survey made with Google Forms. Answering is voluntary and the survey does not ask for your name or email. Google processes the answers on our behalf under the Google Privacy Policy.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies:

  • Necessary: a cookie that stores your cookie banner choice (CookieYes), and cookies that keep site administrators logged in. These do not track you.
  • Comments: optional cookies that remember your name and email if you ask us to.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics cookies (names starting with _ga), used only as described above.

You can change your choice at any time with the cookie settings button on the site, and you can delete cookies in your browser settings. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not show ads on this website.

Embedded content and links

Some pages include content from other websites, such as the Google Forms survey, or link to the App Store, Google Play and the Chrome Web Store. Embedded content behaves as if you visited the other website, and that website may collect data about you. Their own privacy policies apply.

Legal bases

Where data protection laws such as the GDPR apply, we rely on:

  • our legitimate interest in running a secure website, for server logs, spam protection and cookieless analytics;
  • your consent, for analytics cookies and optional comment cookies;
  • your request, when we reply to your emails.

Who we share data with

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the site (our web host, Google for analytics and forms, Ahrefs for aggregate analytics, Automattic for Gravatar), and when the law requires it. These providers may process data outside your country. Where required, they use legal safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

  • Comments and their metadata: as long as the comment is published, or until you ask us to remove it.
  • Emails: as long as needed to answer you and follow up, then deleted.
  • Analytics data: according to the retention settings in Google Analytics; aggregate statistics may be kept longer.
  • Server logs: according to our hosting provider’s standard retention.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR, KVKK or California law), you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, object to or restrict its use, receive a copy, and withdraw consent at any time. To use any of these rights, email hello@digitaltrafficlabs.com. We will reply within the time the law requires. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

Our blog writes about babies, but this website is meant for adults. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We keep the site and its plugins up to date and limit admin access. No website can be completely secure, so please do not send sensitive information, such as health details about your child, through comments or email.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
